4. Mini-Bio

I’m a writer/musician born into the concrete canyons of Chicago. I’m a poet first-and- foremost, who’s also taken on the persona of a novelist and play-write. Though I have a multitude of other hobbies, a writer is who I am.

But please don’t let me discount my hobbies! One of the more important hobbies I dabble in is music. I’m the lead singer of The Wall JuMPeRs (we’ve been together since ‘95 so I’ve worn a lot of hats and held a lot of picks/drumsticks during that time). Another of my loves is extreme Frisbee. I’ve also been an amateur, street magician since I was eighteen. In in early twenties I was part of a Shakespeare company and I’ve directed a few stage-plays.

I love watching movies! Film is not simply an exercise in amusement for me . . . I’m a full blown critic. I study the acting, the cinematography, the writing, the blocking, the directing, everything. The movies bring together all of my loves. I’m also a martial artist. I have a black belt from the North American Alliance of Martial Arts and I’m pursuing a second in Aikido.

I love yo-yos, Christmas, family, snow, Christmas lights, Thanksgiving, Christmas music, Autumn, and basically anything else associated with Christmas.

Most of my writing has centered around poetry, essays, and short stories. Recently I’ve taken the plunge into novels. I’m extremely excited about my current work and I hope to highlight some of my chapters and ideas on this site.

But you’ll just have to wait for that . . . .
